schrit_tmacher festival 2025

Platform for young talent

CoLABORATION was shown at Forum Ludwig at the weekend and will be shown again today in Heerlen, albeit with some new pieces

Impressions by Klaus Dilger

With CoLABORATION and the format schrit_tmacher GENERATION2, the festival organisers are creating a platform for young dance makers and dancers from the region who cross borders. Once again this year, the performance we attended on 16 March featured four very different approaches, both in terms of content and quality. On the stage of the Forum Ludwig, the so-called SPACE, CoLAB is intended to be an important addition to and an important position statement for regional dance creation.

Once again this year, we sorely missed the platform for young choreographers, which in the past provided the actual ‘talent platform’, not to mention the commissioned productions in which truly professional choreographers were able to develop interesting choreographies for the schrit_tmacher justdance! Festival.

We have summarised our impressions in short videos. We have taken the introduction of the participants from the organisers and from the programme booklet. Once again this year, there is no rating, even though it became obvious that the selection of those who are allowed to present themselves at an international festival (even under the label ‘Generation2’) is not really comprehensible, at least in the case of the first contribution (YUNI by Shauna Fischer and Tabea Jung (D) ). In our opinion, a waiver would have enhanced the evening. (Not in the programme on 22 March)

The video impressions of the individual contributions can be accessed via the respective link.
